Former Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver Alshon Jeffery was recently arrested for insurance fraud, for allegedly hiding financial information. The Super Bowl champion, who played nine NFL seasons, was booked in jail and later released. California law defines insurance fraud as a felony, potentially carrying five years in prison and/or fine.
