PILIBHIT: A 28-year-old woman was allegedly poisoned and then bludgeoned to death over dowry at Bithaura Kalan village under Gajraula police station of Pilibhit district.The incident took place on Saturday morning, and the body was sent for autopsy, said police. SHO Brijveer Singh said a case under relevant sections of BNS and the Dowry Prohibition Act was registered against the husband, his parents, Jagannath and Premwati, younger brother Gangaram and sister Puja Devi. In his police complaint, Sundar Lal of the same village stated that he married his daughter Kusma Devi to farmer Chandra Pal around six years ago. Despite giving adequate gifts, her husband and in-laws demanded Rs 1 lakh cash, a motorbike and a gold chain and subjected her to physical and mental torture. There were several injury marks on her body.
