'War 2' box office collection Day 15: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani starrer catches up to Rajinikanth's 'Coolie', earns Rs 1.50 crore

‘War 2’ wrapped up its second week at the box office on a weak note, with collections slowing down. On its second Thursday, the Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani starrer earned just around Rs 1.50 crore net across all languages, according to early estimates by sacnilk.War 2 Movie ReviewInterestingly, this figure puts War 2 neck-and-neck with Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which also met a similar fate at the box office, earning an estimated Rs 1.75 crore on the same day. With these latest figures, it seems that War 2 is finally catching up to Coolie. Both films clashed at the box office, however, thanks to the buzz around the Rajinikanth starrer, the film managed to take a huge Rs 20 crore lead.Going by these latest numbers, the films appear to be closing the gap as business slows down.

Impact of new release Param Sundari

The fresh dip in numbers coincides with the release of ‘Param Sundari’, the new romantic comedy headlined by Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor. The film, propelled by its light-hearted rom-com genre and the first-time pairing of the lead stars, has already generated strong buzz. Trade reports suggest that the new release could open at an impressive Rs 10 crore on Day 1, immediately drawing attention away from the action-heavy ‘War 2’ and ‘Coolie’.

Current Standing

After 15 days, War 2’s India net total now stands at an estimated Rs 231.25 crore. War 2 has drawn the bulk of its earnings from the Hindi market, where it has collected nearly Rs 173.16 crore net, though the numbers remain below the high benchmarks set for a Spy Universe film fronted by Hrithik Roshan. The Telugu version has held its own with close to Rs 55.9 crore net, thanks to Jr NTR’s strong pull at the box office. Meanwhile, the Tamil version has contributed only around Rs 2.07 crore net, reflecting limited traction in that region. With ‘Param Sundari’ expected to attract urban multiplex audiences, and regional films continuing to hold strong in South India, War 2 may find it increasingly difficult to recover lost momentum in the coming weeks.
