GOND: At least 11 devotees from Seha village lost their lives, and four others sustained injuries after an SUV carrying them plunged into a canal near Belwa Bahuta in the Ikaithok area on Sunday morningThe vehicle was en route to the Prithvinath temple in Ayodhya for Jalabhishek when the accident occurred.According to police, the SUV carrying 15 pilgrims went out of control and veered into the canal.Eleven people died on the spot, while four others were rescued safely.The deceased have been identified as Rambeti (60), Saroja Devi (58), Raju (30), Narendra (32), Pankaj (28), Aarti (25), Gudiya (22), Aarav (5), Kavita (18), Rinku (35) and. The entire village of Seha is mourning the collective loss of so many lives.The state government has initiated the process of providing financial aid to the affected families.Chief minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended condolences to the bereaved families. He directed the district administration to expedite relief and rescue operations and ensure proper medical treatment for the injured.He also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each for the families of the deceased.“The loss of life in the unfortunate accident in the district of Gonda is extremely tragic and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the grief-stricken families. Instructions have been given to provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of those who lost their lives in this accident, and to the district administration officials to immediately take the injured to the hospital for their proper treatment. I pray to Lord Shri Ram that the departed souls attain salvation, the bereaved families find the strength to bear this immense sorrow, and the injured recover swiftly, ” Yogi tweeted.
