NEW DELHI: The United States welcomed the recent understanding between India and Pakistan on the cessation of hostilities, applauding both nations for choosing diplomacy over escalation. In an official statement, the US state department praised Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Shehbaz Sharif for their “wisdom, prudence, and statesmanship” in reaching the agreement.US President Donald Trump and secretary of state Marco Rubio urged both countries to maintain a complete ceasefire and engage in direct communication.“The United States continues to offer its support in facilitating productive discussions to avert future conflict,” the state department added.On May 10, the US praised the India-Pakistan ceasefire agreement following the Pahalgam attack, with vice president JD Vance commending the diplomatic efforts behind the breakthrough.His remarks came after secretary Rubio’s announcement detailing the diplomatic efforts led by the United States, which resulted in a halt to all military operations across land, sea, and air.These developments followed India’s launch of Operation Sindoor on May 7, which targeted multiple terror camps in Pakistan and PoK in response to last month’s terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 tourists.In a joint press conference held at the National Media Centre on Sunday, the senior-most operational commanders from all three wings of the Indian Armed Forces revealed major outcomes of India’s Operation Sindoor.At a joint press conference on Sunday at the National Media Centre, senior commanders from the Army, Navy, and Air Force outlined the outcomes of Operation Sindoor.
