UP shocker: Cop throws 16-year-old off roof after she complains of harassment; critical | Lucknow News

LUCKNOW: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly thrown off a roof by a policeman, resulting in a severe spinal injury in the Chinhat area under BBD police station of the city. The girl is in critical condition and admitted at RMLIMS hospital. The accused, Mukesh Yadav, was arrested late Wednesday night.The girl’s mother accused the constable of harassing her daughter. She claims that when they protested against his behaviour, Yadav threatened to kill her husband and verbally abused them. The mother further alleged that Yadav, along with his wife Kumkum and brother-in-law Ankit Yadav, assaulted her husband and daughter.“When I intervened, all three of them attacked me as well,” the mother recounted. “They then threw my daughter off the roof.” The mother has filed a complaint at the BBD police station.The girl’s mother alleges that Yadav was harassing her daughter, offering her money with ill intentions.Yadav is currently posted with Dial-112. Inspector Ram Singh of BBD police station said that a report has been filed and an investigation is in progress. Action will be taken based on evidence. DCP east, Shashank Singh said investigations reveal a scuffle between two parties and case was registered against three individuals.The injured girl said, “I complained about the policeman’s misconduct to his wife, who demanded proof. On Monday evening, his wife argued with my mother. Later, along with his wife, he came to my room, abused me and slapped me multiple times before pushing me off the second-floor roof.”She added that as the policeman and his accomplices attempted to flee, her brother heard her cries and raised an alarm. Her parents tried to stop them, resulting in further assault.
