As per the report, ‘The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond’ witnessed an overall 11.99% Hindi occupancy on Friday, February 27, 2026.Meanwhile, as per the PTI report, the ticket sales for the movie are slow and expected to pick up the pace in the coming days in Kerala. Reportedly, in the PVR theater at the Lulu Mall in Thiruvananthapuram, only 68 tickets were sold until 10 am for the four shows scheduled for the day, according to BookMyShow figures.Meanwhile in Kochi, Suresh, the owner of the popular Shenoy Theatre, said there were around 50 percent bookings for the four shows scheduled during the day. “The bookings are more for the evening and night shows,” he told PTI.He said that the number of shows to be screened in the coming days will be decided based on the first day’s ticket sales. At the same time, Suresh also said that it was a slow start when the first movie—’The Kerala Story’—was released in 2023. “The bookings had slowly picked up, and there was a good collection,” he said.At Kozhikode city’s Crown Theatre, a similar trend was seen last time in 2023, its owner Vinod Iyer said. This time, the bookings are “very poor” for the four shows scheduled in his theater for the day, Iyer told PTI.He said that the reasons for it might be that the bookings were opened late on Friday, and people might be waiting for the reviews before making a decision.

Ahead of its release, the Central Board of Film Certification granted the film a U/A 16+ certificate on February 16, 2026. However, pleas were submitted in the Kerala High Court seeking a stay on the film’s release in theaters. After hearing the case, a single-bench judge halted the release for the next 15 days and directed CBFC to review the points put forth by the petitioners. The producers appealed the court order, and a special session was arranged by the division bench of three justices, which lifted the stay.The teaser of the film received mixed reactions from the audience as well as the critics.
