RAJKOT: A 30-year-old engineer and a 62-year-old woman lost their lives while two others were injured after a speeding car driven by a policeman’s son ploughed into them in the Kaliyabeed area of Bhavnagar city on Thursday.The deceased were identified as Bhargav Bhatt and Champa Vachhani.Harshrajsinh Gohil, 30, who was at the wheel, was arrested from the spot. His father Aniruddhsinh, an assistant sub-inspector in the Local Crime Branch (LCB) is said to have handed him over to the Nilambaug police station.According to police sources, the accident occurred around 4pm, and the entire sequence was captured in the CCTVs. The footage shows Bhatt and Vachhani standing on the roadside when the car suddenly veered and hit them. Bhatt died on the spot, while Vachhani succumbed during treatmentBhatt had been married just a year ago and was on his way to work when the accident occurred. Vachhani had reportedly stepped out to buy groceries.
