NEW DELHI: A group of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers vandalised a toll plaza in Washim district, accusing authorities of collecting toll fees despite incomplete roadwork. Footage circulating on social media shows men smashing glass windows of booths at the Tondgaon toll plaza using metal rods. Raju Patil Kidse, the party’s district president, defended the action, claiming repeated complaints had gone unaddressed. “There are no basic amenities at the plaza, and the road leading to Kanergaon is still unfinished. Yet toll collection has begun,” Kidse said in a video.Recent incidentsA shopkeeper from Rajasthan was assaulted in Mumbai last month after allegedly failing to speak in Marathi. Earlier this month, MNS workers allegedly ransacked the Worli office of investor Sushil Kedia. The attack came after Kedia posted a comment on social media expressing reluctance to learn Marathi, accompanied by a remark aimed at MNS chief Raj Thackeray.
