PM busted Congress lies, says BJP; Cong claims Trump-Munir meet 'jhatka' to diplomacy

Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh said Pakistan Gen Asim Munir’s meeting Trump is a “triple jhatka for Indian diplomacy”. BJP, on the other hand, said PM Modi’s conversation with Trump on Op Sindoor has “busted” every Congress lie. Reiterating that India has never accepted and will never accept mediation from any country on issues with Pakistan, BJP Wednesday said PM Modi’s conversation with US President Donald Trump on Operation Sindoor has “busted” every Congress lie, even as the opposition party hit out at the govt over Trump’s scheduled lunch with Pakistan army chief Asim Munir.Congress has been targeting the govt over Trump’s claim of mediation between India and Pakistan. On Wednesday, party spokesperson Jairam Ramesh said Munir meeting Trump is a “triple jhatka for Indian diplomacy”. The second “huge setback” came when US central command chief General Michael Kurilla declared Pakistan a “phenomenal partner” in counter terror operations and the third was Trump claiming credit for pausing Op Sindoor, he said.Following Modi’s phone conversation with Trump, BJP IT dept head Amit Malviya said Congress and its troll army simply can’t digest the fact that the PM told Trump in clear terms – India neither needs nor accepts any third-party mediation. “Congress must stop maligning India’s firm and principled foreign policy just to feed its petty narratives,” he said, adding, “Every Congress lie has been busted.” Former Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar told reporters that it was always known to every Indian that there never was, there is not and never will be any other country India will seek to fight against its enemies. “Unfortunately, Congress since 2014 is repeatedly starting new cycles of lies… It came up with the lie that the mediation was being done by the US president,” he said.Jairam Ramesh, meanwhile, demanded that PM Modi chair an all-party meeting on his return from his three-nation tour to brief opposition leaders on what transpired in the conversation.
