BHUBANESWAR: The Shalimar-Sambalpur Mahima Gosain Express (20831) derailed near Sambalpur City station on Thursday. Official sources from the East Coast Railway (ECoR) said nobody was injured in the incident.The rear trolley of a general coach next to the guard van of the train went off track due to the derailment at 9:22 am on Thursday. The Sambalpur-bound train was running at a very slow speed during the incident, said the ECoR official statement.The incident took place in the Sambalpur City-Sambalpur Junction section, shortly after the train departed from Sambalpur City at 9:18 am. The cause of the derailment is yet to be ascertained, said an official from the Railways.“No loss of life or property in this incident is reported. The train, except for the affected coach, has already left for Sambalpur with all passengers safely,” said the ECoR statement.Railway officials, including the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Sambalpur, reached the spot to oversee the early restoration of traffic and inquire about the incident.On March 30, one person died and over 30 were injured after 11 coaches of the Bengaluru-Kamakhya AC Express derailed at Manguli-Choudwar passenger halt in Cuttack.
