‘No longer with NDA’: Former Tamil Nadu chief minister O Panneerselvam-led AIADMK faction ends ties with BJP | India News

NEW DELHI: The AIADMK Cadres Rights Retrieval Committee, led by former Tamil Nadu chief minister O Panneerselvam, on Thursday announced its exit from the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).Veteran leader and committee advisor Panruti S Ramachandran made the announcement at a press conference, flanked by Panneerselvam and other panel members.“Hereafter, the Committee will not be a part of the National Democratic Alliance,” Ramachandran told reporters.He added that Panneerselvam would soon tour various parts of Tamil Nadu to engage with the public and strengthen the committee’s base. The group will decide on any future political alliances depending on how the political situation unfolds, Ramachandran said.The move comes amid signs of political realignments in Tamil Nadu ahead of the upcoming elections.
