NIFT 2025 round 1 counselling choice filling deadline extended till this date: Apply online at nift.ac.in
The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has extended the deadline for choice filling and locking for Round 1 counselling of the 2025 admissions cycle. Originally set to close earlier, candidates now have until midnight of July 6 to fill and lock their preferred program and campus choices on the official portal — nift.admissions.nic.in. The extension provides candidates additional time to carefully review and prioritize their options. This applies to both undergraduate (B.Des/B.FTech) and postgraduate (M.Des/M.FTech/MFM) programmes. The Round 1 seat allotment result will be announced on July 7, following which selected candidates will need to confirm their willingness and complete fee payment by July 10. Candidates are advised to log in and act promptly to secure their desired seats.
Extended deadline for choice filling
As per the updated schedule, the choice filling and locking window has been extended till July 6, 2025 (11:59 PM). Students can log in to the official NIFT counselling portal using their credentials, unlock their choices if required, make necessary edits, and lock their final preferences. The portal allows applicants to select from various NIFT campuses and courses based on their entrance exam rank. It is important to note that only locked choices will be considered for Round 1 seat allotment.
How to submit choices for NIFT 2025 counselling
Here is how candidates can submit their choices for NIFT counselling:
- Visit the official website, nift.admissions.nic.in
- Login to candidate portal
- Choose your program (UG or PG)
- Once logged in, click on ‘Choice Filling & Locking’ in the menu
- A list of NIFT campuses and programs (e.g., B.Des, MFM) will appear
- You can add choices by selecting campuses and courses from the list
- Use the “Move Up” or “Move Down” buttons to arrange choices in order of preference
- You can select multiple combinations (e.g., NIFT Delhi – B.Des, NIFT Mumbai – B.FTech, etc.)
- Click on ‘Save & Continue’ after making changes
- Lock Your Choices Before Deadline (July 6, 2025)
After locking, take a printout or screenshot of the locked choices for your records
