Neeraj Chopra at Diamond League Final Live Updates: Indian javelin star Neeraj Chopra, speaking to media ahead of the Diamond League Finals in Zurich on Thursday, admitted he is still not satisfied with his technique despite achieving a 90m-plus throw in Doha Diamond League in May. The two-time Olympic medalist is aiming to reclaim the Diamond League trophy while working on improving his technique under legendary coach Jan Zelezny.

Chopra threw 90.23m while finishing second in his season-opening Diamond League meet for javelin on May 16, finally breaching the coveted 90m mark he had been chasing for over five years.

The 27-year-old athlete expressed his ongoing journey to perfect his technique, particularly focusing on utilizing his run-up speed more effectively.

“I feel I am really fast in run-up, but I don’t think I am using the speed right now. In Doha, the 90m throw was really good, but technically I don’t want to say that was perfect. If my left leg is straight and if I use perfect block, that will be really good throw and then I will be satisfied with my speed,” Chopra said.

When asked about potentially throwing 92m with better technique on Thursday, Chopra responded, “You don’t know in javelin, you go maybe four or five metres also.”

A competitive contest awaits as Chopra faces defending champion Anderson Peters of Grenada and Germany’s Julian Weber in the seven-man final. The field also includes Kenya’s 2015 world champion Julius Yego, Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago, Andrian Mardare of Moldova, and Switzerland’s Simon Wieland.
