INDORE: Even as the search for Indore Honeymooner Sonam Raghuvanshi entered the 11th day, new CCTV footage has emerged from a Shillong hotel of her and her husband Raja.The grainy video shows them at the hotel reception as they check out on the evening of May 22. They are believed to have moved into a hotel in Sohra, 120km away, left their luggage there, and proceeded towards Maulakaya village in Cherrapunjee area.They were never seen again. Raja’s body was found in a deep gorge in Weisawdong on Monday. He had been hacked to death. Sonam’s brother Govid, who has been looking for her for nearly two weeks, told TOI, “I won’t leave Meghalaya until she is found.” He fears she has been trafficked to Bangladesh.“My sister is alive. She has been abducted. I want to request the Meghalaya CM to stop looking for a dead body,” he said, suggesting that police treat it as an abduction case.“It has already been a fortnight and all the agencies have searched all the forests and valleys here. Sonam’s bag, mobile and other items are missing. Police say the last location of both mobiles were Double Decker bridge, but we found out that Raja had put out a social media post before he was killed and the last location of his phone was where his body was found,” said Govind.Search operations continue, no trace of her Govind fears his sister was abducted and taken across the border into Bangladesh. The family insists on a CBI investigation.Raja’s brother Vipin also highlighted that the region borders Bangladesh, raising the possibility of cross-border human trafficking.Sonam’s family remains glued to television channels, phone at hand, anxiously awaiting any news about her. Search operations continued on Thursday, but there is still no trace of her.
