Madhya Pradesh: Girl found dead on tracks; was under pressure to marry, says cops | Bhopal News

BHOPAL: The body of a young woman was found on the railway tracks in Misrod on Saturday. Police said preliminary investigation suggests that she ended her life by jumping in front of a train.The deceased was identified as 24-year-old Payal, who worked at a private firm near Mandideep. She lived with her aunt after her parents separated. No suicide note was recovered from the spot.According to police, Payal’s aunt, who had raised her, had been insisting on her marriage, but Payal was firmly against the idea and often expressed her wish to remain unmarried, leading to frequent disagreements at home. Police added that a family was scheduled to visit Payal’s house soon in connection with a marriage proposal.Investigating officers said while family pressure seems to have played a role, the exact reason for the extreme step is yet to be established. Statements from her relatives and close acquaintances have been recorded, and further probe in the case is underway.
