‘Love triangle or money plot?’: Raja Raghuvanshi’s kin seeks narco test on Sonam, her lover Raj Kushwaha; brother moves Meghalaya HC | Indore News

INDORE: The elder brother of Raja Raghuvanshi, the Indore businessman who was murdered while on his honeymoon in Meghalaya, said on Monday that the family plans to approach the Meghalaya High Court to request narco-analysis tests on the prime accused — Raja’s wife Sonam and her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha.In connection with the sensational May murder case, the Meghalaya Police have arrested seven people, including Sonam and Kushwaha. The incident occurred while the newlywed couple was vacationing in the northeastern state.Raja Raghuvanshi’s elder brother Vipin said, “The motive behind my brother’s murder is still unclear. Narco tests on Sonam and Kushwaha can provide clues about it. Therefore, we will soon file a petition in the Meghalaya High Court for conducting narco tests on both accused.” Apart from the alleged ‘love triangle’, the motive behind the murder could be to gain huge financial benefits by the accused, he suspected.During a narco-analysis test, a drug such as sodium pentothal is administered, inducing a hypnotic state in which the subject’s imagination is suppressed, potentially leading to the revelation of truthful information.Sonam is accused of conspiring with Kushwaha and three contract killers to eliminate her husband — a murder that has shocked the nation.Raja, who was involved in the transport business, went missing on May 23 while on his honeymoon in Meghalaya. His decomposed body was discovered on June 2 in a deep gorge near a waterfall in the Sohra (Cherrapunji) area of East Khasi Hills district.The couple had tied the knot in Indore on May 11 and left for their honeymoon in the northeastern state on May 20.A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Meghalaya Police is currently probing the case, which has drawn widespread media and public attention.
