Kolkata professor flees Tehran for Azerbaijan border | India News
Falguni Dey, a Kolkata-based geography professor stranded in Tehran, on Monday evening embarked on a dangerous journey to Astara in Iran’s Gilan province bordering Azerbaijan in a bid to escape Israeli missile attacks, reports Rohit Khanna. Dey spoke to a travel agent on Monday and left the city in a car for a 1000km journey to Astara. “I know the risks involved in this journey. I don’t know which area Israel is going to target next. But I have to take the chance to escape as I don’t have much cash left with me,” he told TOI over phone. However, he is yet to get permission from the Azerbaijan authorities to cross the Astara border and enter the neighbouring country.
