Kerala man wanted for wife's murder found dead near Kedarnath

DEHRADUN: A 45-year-old man from Kerala’s Kottayam, wanted for allegedly murdering his second wife, was found dead near the Kedarnath shrine. Police said that KK Premkumar was in jail for the murder of his first wife in 2019 and he was released from the jail on bail before remarrying about five months ago. KK Premkumar had allegedly killed his second wife on June 4 and went absconding after Kerala police issued a lookout notice for him. Two teams of Kerala police were in Delhi to trace him when they received a call from their counterparts in Uttarakhand about Premkumar’s death.Inspector Rajiv Chauhan of Uttarakhand police, who was deployed in Kedarnath, told TOI, “Premkumar was found dead near his rented accommodation late on Wednesday night. Police then sent the body to a nearby hospital in Rudraprayag town for post-mortem examination. After examining his ID, the Kerala police were informed about his death. It was found that he was wanted by them for his involvement in his wife’s murder in Thrissur, Kerala.Inspector Chauhan informed that nothing suspicious was found in his possession. “The autopsy report will help in ascertaining the cause of death. A team of Kerala police reached Kedarnath from Delhi on Friday to carry out their probe in the murder case,” said Chauhan, adding that there were no injuries on his body.
