Jason Miller, an American political strategist, communications consultant, and media executive, has played prominent roles in multiple Republican campaigns and served as a senior adviser to former U.S. President Donald Trump. A graduate of George Washington University (GWU) with a degree in political science, Miller’s career spans political consultancy, media commentary, and tech leadership.Born in 1974 or 1975 and raised in Edmonds, Washington, Miller completed his secondary education at Edmonds-Woodway High School in 1993. After graduation, he joined businessman Darrell Issa’s U.S. Senate campaign as coalitions director. In 2000, he became political director for Issa’s successful congressional campaign in California. Later that year, Miller managed Ric Keller’s congressional campaign in Florida and subsequently served as Keller’s chief of staff and campaign manager for his 2002 re-election.In 2003, Miller led Jack Ryan’s U.S. Senate campaign in Illinois. Although Ryan won the GOP nomination, he withdrew following a court-ordered release of custody records. Miller later consulted for Mel Martínez’s Senate campaign in Florida and assisted Tom Coburn’s successful Senate bid in Oklahoma.Strategic roles and state-level leadershipIn 2005, Miller became campaign manager for Virginia Senator George Allen’s re-election campaign. He left later that year to manage South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford’s re-election effort, later serving as Deputy Chief of Staff in the state government.He then joined Rudy Giuliani’s 2008 presidential campaign as Deputy Communications Director. After the campaign, Miller worked at Denzenhall Associates, a D.C.-based crisis communications firm.Work at Jamestown Associates and rise in national politicsIn 2010, Miller joined Jamestown Associates as Partner and Executive Vice President. From 2012 to 2016, he worked with several insurgent Republican candidates, including Richard Mourdock and Milton R. Wolf. He also consulted for Club for Growth PAC and worked on Ted Cruz’s 2016 presidential campaign.Joining Trump campaign and Gettr leadershipMiller joined Trump’s 2016 campaign as a senior communications adviser. He was later part of the transition team and was briefly announced as White House Communications Director before stepping down. He rejoined Trump’s 2020 campaign as a senior adviser and became CEO of GETTR, a conservative social media platform, in July 2021.
