‘It’s becoming harder’: Jason Kelce admits fame is now disrupting family life with Kylie and their four kids | NFL News
Jason Kelce is not guessing about the cost of post-NFL fame. He is living it. The retired Philadelphia Eagles center says his profile is higher now than it ever was during his playing career, and that shift is changing how his family moves through everyday life.Kelce, who retired after the 2023 season, said the spotlight that followed his media work and the success of “New Heights” has made normal outings harder for his wife, Kylie Kelce, and their four daughters. He did not dramatize it. He stated it plainly.
Jason Kelce says being “all over television” has changed life for his wife and kids
Kelce addressed the issue in an interview with the Wall Street Journal published Dec. 22. He said the visibility attached to his current career has altered even routine moments outside the house.“I’m all over television, and my face, in particular, is much more out there,” Kelce said. “In a lot of ways, going out into public is much different for not just me but my wife, my whole family. But we really do try to live as much of a normal life as we can, which is increasingly becoming harder.”Kelce, 38, shares four daughters with Kylie Kelce: Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley, 9 months. He said the family still does the same things it always has. The difference is the attention that now follows.“We’re finding ways to get it done,” he said. “We go to Disney World and we’re still walking around. We might take a few more pictures in certain areas.”Kelce acknowledged that the visibility extends beyond him. His wife and children now absorb it, too. He framed that reality as a tradeoff, not a complaint. The family keeps moving forward, even as privacy shrinks.
Jason Kelce draws a firm line between Fame, Family, and Taylor Swift
Kelce also addressed how his brother’s relationship with Taylor Swift fits into that attention. He said he intentionally keeps celebrity out of personal relationships.“We’ve tried to keep a lot of that out of the relationship,” Kelce said. “I just enjoy her being my brother’s soon-to-be wife, and aunt to my kids, and we try to leave that relationship where it should be, there.”That boundary matters more now. “New Heights,” which Kelce co-hosts with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, has exploded in reach since its debut in September 2022. High-profile guests have included George Clooney, LeBron James, Erin Andrews, Caitlin Clark, and Swift herself. Kelce has also taken on a prominent role as an ESPN analyst on “Monday Night Countdown.”Kelce said he does admire Swift’s business approach, even if he avoids blending fame with family.“Watching her operate, watching her savviness in getting her entire music catalogue back, watching how she has toured the globe while also writing an entire new album,” he said. “The level at which she takes control over a lot of different aspects but also allowing people to be experts in their own right, I think that a lot of that stuff is fun to watch.”Kelce did not suggest regret. He did not posture. He described adjustment. Retirement removed the helmet, but it did not reduce attention. If anything, it amplified it. And now, he and Kylie Kelce are navigating how much of that spotlight their children are willing to inherit.
