'Irresponsible state with nuclear weapons': Govt hits out at Pakistan army chief Asim Munir's remarks; calls it 'part of pattern'

The central government hit back strongly at Pakistan army chief General Asim Munir’s recent remarks targeting India from the US soil, calling Pakistan “an irresponsible state with nuclear weapons,” confirmed PTI news agency quoting sources.“There is real danger of nuclear weapons falling in the hands of non-state actors in Pakistan,” government said.According to government sources, such statements from Pakistan’s army chiefs are part of a pattern. “Whenever the US supports Pakistan’s military, they always show their true colours,” they said, adding, “It is a symptom that democracy doesn’t exist in Pakistan; it is their military which controls.”Speaking at an event in Tampa, Florida on Sunday, Munir threatened to destroy any Indian infrastructure that could affect water flow to Pakistan. “We will wait for India to build a dam, and when it does so, we will destroy it with ten missiles,” he reportedly said, adding, “The Indus river is not the Indians’ family property… We have no shortage of missiles, Alhumdulillah.”He also issued a broader nuclear threat, warning, “We are a nuclear nation. If we think we are going down, we’ll take half the world down with us.”
