An Indiana Fever fan was removed from the arena during Tuesday’s game between the Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun after allegedly making contact with Sun guard Saniya Rivers. She reported the matter after which a fan was asked to leave. Wearing a Caitlin Clark No. 22 Indiana Fever jersey, the fan was seen being escorted out of TD Garden by security during the second quarter.

What happened during the Indiana Fever vs Connecticut Sun game?

The incident appeared to occur when Saniya Rivers was preparing to inbound the ball but paused to have an intense exchange with WNBA officials before resuming play. Following that discussion, a courtside fan seated near the Sun bench was ejected from the arena.CT Sun beat reporter Gabby Alfveby shared on social media: “It appears that a Fever fan sitting courtside is escorted out after saying something/touching Saniya Rivers before inbounding the basketball. Rivers brought this to the attention of the referees.”The Fever-Sun announcers briefly addressed the incident during the broadcast. The exact nature of the interaction between Rivers and the fan remains unclear. “Another delay,” play-by-play broadcaster Pam Ward said on air. “A fan is being escorted out of the building—a fan that was close to the Sun bench. So that was the reason for that delay.”

An eyewitness shared on X, “A fan was escorted out of TD Garden for TOUCHING Saniya Rivers. She called it out immediately, and he was escorted up the stairs and out.
