The Indian Navy kicked off the online application process for its Short Service Commission (SSC) Officer January 2027 selection drive. Eligible applicants can apply for vacancies on the official website of the Indian Navy. This year, the Indian Navy will hire 260 personnel under the Executive, Technical, and Educational branches of the SSC in the Indian Navy.The online applications have opened on January 24, 2026, while they will remain active until February 24, 2026, as notified officially on the Indian Navy website. The applicants who satisfy all the criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, and eligibility will be able to submit their online applications. There will be no application fees applicable to any of the applicants.Overview of Indian Navy SSC Officer January 2027 RecruitmentThe recruitment is for 260 posts from various branches. In the Executive branch, vacancies include SSC General Service (GS/X) with 76 posts, Air Traffic Controller (ATC) with 18 posts, Naval Air Operations Officer (NAOO) with 20 posts, SSC Pilot with 26 posts, and SSC Logistics with 10 posts.The Technical branch includes 42 posts in Engineering Branch General Service, 38 posts in Electrical Branch General Service, eight posts each in Submarine Technical Engineering and Submarine Technical Electrical. The Education branch has a total of 15 posts.Candidates must be born between July 02, 2002, and July 01, 2008, as per Indian Navy rules, with age relaxation applicable for SSC Officers in accordance with existing regulations.Eligibility criteria across branchesEligibility requirements vary by post. Executive branch positions generally require a BE or B.Tech degree with a minimum of 60 per cent marks. ATC, NAOO and SSC Pilot posts also require 60 per cent marks in Class 10 and 12, including English.SSC Logistics allows graduates from BE, B.Tech, MBA, MCA, M.Sc (IT), B.Sc, B.Com or B.Sc (IT) with a PG Diploma in Finance, subject to first-class marks.Technical branch posts require BE or B.Tech degrees in specified engineering disciplines with at least 60 per cent marks. Required qualification for posts in the education branch is given as M.Sc., B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech. in the relevant subjects.Important dates and examination detailsThe last date to apply online and fulfill formalities for fees is February 24, 2026. The examination date will be announced separately.
