IBPS Clerk Mains exam 2025: The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) Clerk Main examination 2025 is expected to take place at the end of November. Only those candidates who have successfully cleared the preliminary stage will be permitted to appear for the next round of the recruitment process.As per the tentative examination calendar released earlier, the IBPS Customer Service Associate (CSA) Main examination is likely scheduled for 29 November, 2025. The examination will be held in the online mode and will consist of an objective-type test designed to assess candidates across a range of skills essential for clerical roles in the banking sector.

IBPS Clerk Mains 2025: Exam pattern

The IBPS Clerk Main examination 2025 will comprise four distinct sections. Each section will have a separate time allocation and will evaluate candidates on both accuracy and speed. The detailed structure of the paper is as follows:

Important instructions for appearing candidates

Here are some important guidelines for candidates appearing in the exam.

  • Applicants who are shortlisted for the Main examination must bring the authenticated or stamped call letter issued for the Online Preliminary examination along with an authenticated or stamped copy of their identification document. This will be verified at the examination venue.
  • Although the examination duration is two hours, candidates may need to remain at the centre for approximately three hours or more. This includes time for document verification, logging into the system, reading instructions and completing other procedural formalities.

Marking scheme and qualifying criteria

Candidates should also be aware of the marking scheme for the exam.

  • A penalty for incorrect responses will apply. For every wrong answer marked in the objective sections, one-fourth (0.25) of the allotted marks for that question will be deducted from the candidate’s total, affecting the final score.
  • To qualify for further selection processes, candidates must secure the minimum required marks in each section as well as an overall minimum cut-off score. The score requirements will be decided by IBPS based on performance and vacancies.
