Live sex shows on terrace: Hyderabad couple charged viewers Rs 500-Rs 2,000, arrested

HYDERABAD: A couple from Amberpet was arrested recently while allegedly preparing to live-stream a sex act from the terrace of their home. Police said they were charging viewers for watching their lovemaking sessions through a social media app. Though they were reportedly live-streaming their steamy encounters for the past few months, they were caught in the act on June 17.Acting on a specific alert, a Task Force team, along with Amberpet police, raided a house in a residential area of Amberpet on June 17 afternoon. The search was carried out with a warrant and independent witnesses.A police team, comprising three woman officers, went to the terrace of the building, which was covered on all sides with curtains. “A couple was about to participate in live sex inside the curtained space. The 40-year-old man and his 37-year-old wife, who were in a semi-nude position, were arrested,” the Amberpet police said.The couple confessed that they were using phones to record and broadcast live sexual content via a social media application, inviting online viewers to pay between 500 and 2,000 per session. Investigators seized four mobile phones, two tripods, and two notebooks containing payment details.

Couple live-streaming sexacts from terrace arrested

“The accused admitted they took to online streaming of sexual content to overcome financial difficulties,” a Task Force officer said. A suo motu case was registered under Section 296 (Obscenity in a public place) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 67(A) of the Information Technology Act, which criminalises the electronic transmission of material containing sexually explicit acts, at the Amberpet police station on June 17. The arrested man used to work as a car driver, while his wife is a home-maker. They have two college-going daughters, who are unaware of their parents’ new money-making venture. The two were served a notice as per law, asking them to appear before the investigation officer for further questioning.
