‘Highest ever’ numbers: Trump claims support from MAGA base gone up ‘significantly’; pressure from ‘troublemakers’ over Epstein files persist

US President Donald Trump claimed on Sunday that the poll numbers within his GOP base have gone up “significantly” amid the ongoing controversy regarding convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. “My Poll Numbers within the Republican Party, and MAGA, have gone up, significantly, since the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax was exposed by the Radical Left Democrats and, just plain “troublemakers.” They have hit 90%, 92%, 93%, and 95%, in various polls, and are all Republican Party records. The General Election numbers are my highest, EVER! People like Strong Borders, and all of the many other things I have done. GOD BLESS AMERICA. MAGA!” his post read on Truth Social. It remains unclear which specific polls President Trump was referring to.A recent poll by CNN/SSRS indicates that Trump maintains strong support among Republicans, with an approval rating of 88%. While 61% of Americans oppose the “Big Beautiful Bill Act”, which encapsulates much of his second-term domestic agenda. Meanwhile, his approval rating among independents lags at just 32%.Previously, he expressed his frustration over “troublemakers” asking for the release of more information in connection with Jeffrey Epstein.“I have asked the Justice Department to release all Grand Jury testimony with respect to Jeffrey Epstein, subject only to Court Approval. With that being said, and even if the Court gave its full and unwavering approval, nothing will be good enough for the troublemakers and radical left lunatics making the request. It will always be more, more, more. MAGA!” he posted on Truth Social. The Wall Street Journal has recently revealed a note gifted to Epstein that mentions Trump’s name and includes an obscene drawing of a woman.Trump denied that he ever wrote that letter and on Friday filed a defamation lawsuit against the journal, seeking damages of no less than $10 billion. Following this, the MAGA base rallied to show their support for Trump after weeks of being critical over the Epstein issue. “We’re so back. Everyone is firing on all cylinders. The MAGA movement is completely united behind this fight,” said Posobiec, a MAGA podcaster, to Steve Bannon, a former Trump adviser.“We have to be on offensive all the time,” Bannon added. “They tried to actually destroy him.”Trump had known Epstein socially in the 1990s and early 2000s and was photographed together in many events.
