AHMEDABAD: An Air India crash victim’s daughter, Falguni, on Friday said she was willing to pay airline owner Tata Group Rs 2 crore if it could bring back her father. The group has announced Rs 1 crore for each flier who perished in Thursday’s crash.Videos of the distraught Falguni’s outburst went viral on Friday as she waited with others at Ahmedabad’s BJ Medical College to give blood samples for DNA identification of the charred remains.Emotions ran high as many were seen breaking down at the hospital. “Can the compensation announced by Tata Group ever bring back my father? I will pay Rs 2 crore to them if they can bring back my father, who always preferred travelling on Air India… My mother is sick, and she needs my father. I need his love and affection,” Falguni said.Hospital officials said sampling of 219 people was completed on Friday. The procedure is likely to take 48 to 72 hours and the initial identification process could begin from Saturday, the officials said. “Majority of the relatives who were in Ahmedabad and elsewhere in India arrived and provided samples. We also got a few foreign nationals. Once the match takes place, identifications will start. After that, the bodies will be handed over to the relatives,” said an official. Multiple teams have been deployed for the DNA analysis, with resources pooled from across Gujarat, the officials said.
