‘Got pregnant thrice, aborted each time’: UP madrassa teacher held for torturing, sexually assaulting student for 3 years; neighbours alerted police after hearing cries | Meerut News
MEERUT: A 22-year-old female student from Bihar has accused a local madrassa teacher in Meerut of keeping her in confinement, torturing and sexually assaulting her for the past three years, police said on Friday. In her complaint, the survivor stated that she became pregnant thrice, and both the accused teacher and his wife forced her to abort each time.“We’ve arrested the 45-year-old teacher. An FIR has been registered against him under BNS section of rape, and against his wife for criminal conspiracy. The wife is yet to be arrested. The charges levelled by the woman in her police complaint are serious in nature and we’re conducting a thorough probe in this sordid abuse story,” SP city Ayush Vikram Singh said.Kotwali circle officer Ashutosh Kumar added, “We’ve recorded the woman’s statement. Her medical tests have been completed and reports are awaited. She told us the accused brought her to Meerut five years ago, and promised to marry her. He then admitted her to the madrassa.” Police further said the accused and the survivor are relatives and lived in the same house.The complainant also stated when she tried to narrate her ordeal to neighbours, the accused duo used to declare her “mentally unstable”. She tried to return home on June 9, but the couple came to know of it and locked her up again.On Thursday, they again thrashed the woman. This time when she started crying out for help, the neighbours informed the local police.
