GHAZIABAD: Two men dressed as delivery agents robbed a jewellery shop in Brij Vihar area on Thursday, making away with gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 30 lakh in just six minutes.The robbers — wearing Swiggy and Blinkit uniforms and helmets to conceal their faces, struck at Mansi Jewellers around 3.30pm when the shop owner, Krishna Kumar Verma, was away for lunch. Only one employee, Shubham, was present at the store.CCTV footage circulated on social media showed the duo reaching the shop on a motorcycle and entering it brandishing pistols. They threatened Shubham at gunpoint, assaulted him, and forced him to unlock the storage units. The robbers then swiftly gathered 125 grams of gold, 20kg of silver, and Rs 30,000 in cash before fleeing towards Delhi.“The entire robbery was executed between 3.30pm and 3.36pm. Five teams have been formed to investigate the matter. We are examining CCTV footage from the shop and nearby areas. We are also probing the possible involvement of the employee who was present during the incident,” said Shweta Yadav, ACP of Sahibabad.Verma, who opened Mansi Jewellers two years ago near his house in Brij Vihar, was immediately informed by Shubham after the robbery. He then alerted police.Senior police officials, including additional CP Alok Priyadarshi, DCP (trans-Hindon) Nimish Patil, and ACP Yadav rushed to the scene. “The process of registering the FIR is underway,” Yadav added.
