‘ENHYPEN’s Heeseung is leaving the group, and fans everywhere are still trying to process the news. The group’s agency confirmed it in March 2026, and honestly, it’s a huge shift for one of K-pop’s most popular fourth-gen groups.However, here’s the twist: Heeseung isn’t leaving the company. He’s staying with Belift Lab and kicking off a solo career, turning the page on a new chapter in his music journey.

What happened?

Per The Korean Times, Belift Lab put out an official statement explaining things. They’d been having a lot of conversations with Heeseung and the other members about where they all want to go, both as a group and individually. Turns out, Heeseung has his own musical vision he’s excited about, and after talking it through, everyone agreed to support his choice.The statement read: “Through deep conversations about each member’s vision for the future and the team’s direction, we confirmed that Heeseung has a clear musical path he wishes to pursue,” the agency said. “After careful consideration, we decided to respect his aspirations.”From now on, ENHYPEN will promote as six (Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki), and Heeseung will focus on his solo work. The agency admitted they can’t explain everything in one short message, but they wanted fans to know this decision came after a lot of thought.“Although it is difficult to explain every detail in a short statement, we want to emphasize that this decision was made after a long period of deliberation,” the company said. “We understand that this news may be difficult for fans to accept, but we hope you will understand that it was made with the future of both ENHYPEN and Heeseung in mind.”Belift Lab also promised that ‘ENHYPEN’, as six, will keep bringing the same energy and performances that ENGENE (their fans) love. Meanwhile, Heeseung’s already working on solo music, with plans for an album.Heeseung also reached out to fans after the announcement. He thanked his bandmates and ENGENE for always being there, saying their support helped him chase a dream that once felt impossible. He’s working hard on new music and can’t wait to meet fans again, carrying their love with him.“Thanks to the members with whom I shared countless emotions, and to ENGENE, who always filled every empty space with their support, I was able to take step after step toward a dream that once felt out of reach,” he said. “I am working hard on an album so I can meet you all again soon. I will move forward with the love from ENGENE always in my heart.”

Heeseung: Who’s he and what’s ahead?

Born as Lee Heeseung in South Korea, per The Korea Times, he first hit the spotlight in 2020 on the survival show ‘I-LAND’, the same show that formed ‘ENHYPEN’. Heeseung quickly stood out for his strong vocals, songwriting, and stage presence. He didn’t just sing; he helped with music production and took on some of the group’s trickiest parts.‘ENHYPEN’ debuted in November 2020 with ‘Border: Day One’. Right from the start, they pulled in fans worldwide with their sharp performances and dramatic, story-driven concepts. They’ve dropped plenty of hits, like ‘Given-Taken’, ‘Drunk-Dazed’, and ‘Bite Me’, blending pop, EDM, hip-hop, and darker, fantasy-inspired vibes. The group’s success brought world tours, awards, and chart-topping albums, including ‘Romance: Untold’, ‘Desire: Unleash’, and ‘The Sin: Vanish’.
