Denied money for gutkha, UP woman feeds poison to 3 children before ending her life; 2 daughters dead, son critical | Bhopal News
BHOPAL: Livid at her husband’s refusal to give her money to buy gutkha, a 30-year-old woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Chitrakoot district allegedly fed poison to her three minor children before consuming it herself Saturday. The woman and her two daughters, aged 2 and 4, died during treatment at a neighbouring Satna district hospital in MP, while her five-year-old son is battling for life.
Her husband had tried to reason with her not to consume gutkha, especially in front of the children, who are of an impressionable age. This angered the woman, leading to an altercation and eventually the extreme step, police said.“A case of unnatural death has been registered, and the case diary will be sent to police station concerned in neighbouring UP for further investigation,” said Kamlesh Sen, incharge of the police outpost at Satna district hospital.Police are yet to ascertain what poison she used and how she obtained it.
