‘Delivery ke ek hafte pehle uthwa lenge’: BJP MP’s bizarre fix for roadless MP village; pregnant woman demanded road; says ‘every childbirth has fix date’ | Bhopal News

BHOPAL: “Delivery ke ek hafte pehle uthwa lenge,” said Sidhi BJP MP Dr Rakesh Mishra while responding to concerns raised by pregnant women from Khaddi Khurd village in Sidhi district, Madhya Pradesh over the absence of a motorable road. The issue was highlighted on social media by local influencer Leela Sahu, who is currently pregnant herself. Sahu pointed out that the lack of proper road connectivity makes it nearly impossible for ambulances to reach the village, especially during the rainy season.Expectant mothers often have to travel in tractors or face severe delays in accessing medical help. This is not the first time the issue was raised—Sahu flagged it back in 2023 as well. With no progress since then, her renewed appeal drew fresh attention.Responding to media queries, MP Mishra stated, “We have ambulances, we have other facilities, we have ASHA workers there. Come and get admitted at the hospital.” He added, “Every delivery has an estimated date, we’ll get them picked up a week in advance.”Three days ago, responding to the same queries, PWD minister Rakesh Singh said, “You said that in Sidhi, a video of Leela Sahu came on social media. There are so many people who have such demands. What do you think, does PWD or any other department have so much fund that someone makes some post and we reach out with a dumper there for constructing a road? We will reach there with a cement concrete plant. This is not possible; there is a process for this.”
