Delhi rains: Overnight rains cause waterlogging in parts of city; more showers expected | Delhi News

NEW DELHI: Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Delhi on Sunday, offering much-needed relief from the sweltering humidity but also triggering waterlogging in key areas across the city. Localities such as Vijay Chowk, Connaught Place, Minto Bridge, Sarojini Nagar, AIIMS, and Panchkuian Marg witnessed intense showers, leading to traffic disruptions and water accumulation on major roads.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had forecast light to moderate rainfall in Delhi-NCR for Thursday morning. Showers were reported in areas like Janpath, Lajpat Nagar, and Minto Bridge, following a day of heavy rain that had already disrupted daily life in parts of the city.“Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by light thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at NCR (Bahadurgarh, Manesar). Light rainfall is very likely to occur over the entire Delhi-NCR, including Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ballabhgarh,” the IMD said in a post on X.
