PURI: A 15-year-old boy from Puri lost his life after being hit by a moving train while attempting to shoot a reel for social media near the railway gate at Jankadeipur station under Chandanpur police limits in Puri Sadar, on Tuesday evening.The video recorded during the incident has gone viral on social media.
The deceased has been identified as Biswajit Sahoo (15) of Manglaghat area in Puri town. Local residents rushed him to Puri district headquarters hospital, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.According to sources, Biswajit and his friends had gone to Sakhigopal’s Birgabindapur to visit the Dakshina Kali temple. After offering prayers, they visited Kamrupa temple at Birpratappur and later went near Jankadeipur railway station.At the spot, Biswajit reportedly stood close to the railway track to record a video reel as a train was approaching, while his friends filmed the clip from a distance.
