Bus carrying ITBP personnel falls into Sindh river in J&K; weapons missing, rescue operation underway

SRINAGAR: A bus carrying personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) plunged into the Sindh River at Kullan in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district amid heavy rainfall on Wednesday, officials said.According to officials, the bus veered off the Kullan bridge and fell into the river. Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Ganderbal and SDRF Sub Component Gund rushed to the site and launched rescue operation.While no casualty figures have been confirmed yet, authorities revealed that several weapons carried by the ITBP personnel went missing in the accident. So far, three weapons have been recovered from the river.(With inputs from agencies)
