PATIALA: A Punjab Police constable with the state intelligence department has been missing since Tuesday night, triggering a massive search operation, especially after his car was found with bloodstains inside it near Bhanra village of Patiala.

Satinder Singh last contacted his family at 9 pm on Tuesday, shortly after he left his office in Mohali for his residence in Samana, Patiala district. Police, however, remain clueless about his whereabouts.Satinder’s family reported that he had spoken to his wife over the phone and informed her that he would be home shortly. However, when he did not return within two hours and his phone went unreachable, the family became anxious and notified the police.Satinder’s car, which he had purchased recently, was later discovered abandoned near Bhanra with visible bloodstains inside, heightening fears for his safety. Despite extensive search efforts, including divers examining the Bhakra canal in the area, no trace of the constable has been located to date. “We are exploring all possible angles. The vehicle has been seized for forensic analysis, and technical surveillance is underway to retrace his movements,” said a police officer overseeing the investigation.Satinder, who regularly commuted between Mohali and Samana, had no known enmity with anyone, according to family members. He had previously served in the special security team of the then Mohali SSP, Sandeep Garg. When Garg was later posted to the intelligence headquarters, Satinder was transferred there as his personal security officer.His father, Karnail Singh, an Army veteran, appealed to the police for intensified efforts. “We were expecting Satinder home by 10pm. He has a four-year-old son. We don’t know what happened. He had no animosity with anyone. We urge the police to make more efforts to trace him,” he said.
