Polling in the constituency was conducted in the first phase of the 2-phase voting, which was on November 6.In the 2020 assembly election, Dr. C N Gupta of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) retained the seat by polling 75,710 votes (45.5%), recording a 53.5% turnout.In 2015, Dr. C N Gupta had also won the constituency for the BJP, securing 71,646 votes (45.3%), marking a 52.1% turnout.In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Rajiv Pratap Rudy of the BJP defeated RJD’s Rohini Acharya, securing 92,155 votes (53.1%) against her 69,839 votes (40.3%).
