RAIPUR: A troubling video showing a primary school teacher intoxicated and dancing with girl students inside the classroom has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and swift action from education authorities.The incident took place at Pashupatipur Primary School in Wadrafnagar block, where headmaster Laxmi Narayan Singh was seen playing music on his mobile phone and dancing with schoolgirls inside the classroom while apparently under the influence of alcohol. The video was reportedly recorded by a staff member at the school.Students revealed that Laxmi Narayan Singh often arrives at school in an inebriated state and has been known to resort to physical punishment without cause. Several students shared complaints about his frequent misconduct and unwarranted beatings.Reacting to the video and student complaints, Balrampur District Education Officer (DEO) D N Mishra took prompt action by suspending the teacher. The DEO also requested a report from Wadrafnagar Block Education Officer (BEO) Manish Kumar. Based on the findings, Singh has been suspended and attached to DEO office in Balrampur.Local MLA Shakuntala Porte expressed strong disapproval of the teacher’s behaviour and directed the authorities to take strict disciplinary measures.This incident raises concerns about teacher conduct and safety at schools, emphasizing the need for vigilant monitoring to protect students and maintain a conducive learning environment.
