Austria school shooting: Eight people killed, including suspect; what we know about the attacker

In a shocking incident, eight people were killed, including the suspected attacker, after multiple shots were heard in a school in Graz city of Austria, on Tuesday. Special forces were present at the BORG Dreierschützengasse high school after they received a call at 10 am (local time). According to Austrian press agency, mayor Elke Kahr described the events as a “terrible tragedy” and said that the deceased individuals included seven students and one adult. Many people were taken to hospitals with injuries, he added. What we know about the attacker: Austrian public broadcaster ORF, citing police, said that a student was behind the shooting, who opened fire, which led to the school’s evacuation. Police spokesman Fritz Grundnig said that several serious injuries included students and teachers.Authorities said that school has been evacuated and everyone has been taken to a safe place. The situation at the school is “secured”, and no longer believed to be any danger.
