Astronomer CEO Andy Byron has resigned from his role after he was spotted hugging and cuddling the company’s HR head at Coldplay Concert in Boston. “Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted,” the company said in a statement. It further added “The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.” Any Byron’s resignation comes a day after the company said it had placed Byron on administrative leave and had launched a ‘formal investigation’ against him.On July 16, 2025, Andy Byron was seen with Kristin Cabot on the ‘kiss cam’ screen at a Coldplay concert. Realizing the two are on big screen, the duo quickly ducked out of the camera view, prompting Coldplay’s Chris Martin to say “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy”. The video soon went viral on the internet with many users posting memes, accusations, and speculations about the viral incident.

Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. Pete DeJoy named interim Astronomer CEO
Astronomer has appointed Pete DeJoy as interim CEO. DeJoy co-founded the data company in 2017. He was appointed VP of Product in January 2023 and was raised to Chief Product Officer in February 2025. As per his LinkedIn profile, Pete DeJoy has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and physics from Bowdoin College in Maine.
