Air ambulance crashes while landing at Kedarnath, narrow escape for pilot, doctor and nursing staff | Dehradun News

DEHRADUN: An air ambulance crashed in the Kedarnath area as its tail hit the ground while landing near the Kedarnath helipad around 11:50 am on Saturday. No casualties were reported and all three persons – the pilot, doctor and nursing staff – are safe.According to district tourism officer Rahul Choubey, who is also the in-charge of heli services for Kedarnath, , “A patient suffered from respiratory problems, following which we contacted AIIMS Rishikesh for heli assistance. The heli ambulance pilot could not land at the Kedarnath helipad due to some technical issues, following which, the pilot attempted to land in the open field nearby.” He stated that “while landing the rear portion of the helicopter crashed and the tail broke.” Choubey confirmed that no death was reported in the mishap. “DGCA would probe the matter,” he added.
