The National Law University (NLU), Delhi has officially begun the registration process for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026. The application window opened on August 7, 2025, and will remain active until November 10, 2025. AILET serves as the exclusive gateway for admission to NLU Delhi’s BA LL.B (Hons.), LL.M, and Ph.D in Law programs. The exam will be conducted on December 14, 2025, in pen-and-paper mode from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. AILET eligibility criteria

For BA LL.B (Hons.)

  • Passed Class 12 or equivalent with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/PwD).
  • Candidates appearing in 2026 board exams are also eligible.

For LL.M

  • Completed LL.B or equivalent degree with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD).
  • Final-year LL.B students may apply.

For Ph.D in Law

  • Master’s degree in Law with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD).
  • Preference for candidates with research publications.

Application fee for AILET 2025

The application fee for AILET 2026 varies based on the candidate’s category. For General and OBC candidates, the fee is ₹3,500, while candidates belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD (Persons with Disabilities) categories are required to pay a reduced fee of ₹1,500. Additionally, candidates from the SC/ST categories who fall under the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category are exempted from paying any application fee.
