NBA legend Dwyane Wade recently shocked his fans with a very unusual confession. He made the confession during the Friday, July 11 episode of TODAY With Jenna & Friends.
Dwyane Wade shocked the host when he admitted to going barefoot in certain public places
The 43-year-old NBA player admitted to removing his shoes to feel comfortable at movie theatres and on airplanes. Dwyane Wade made this admission while discussing his leisure and travel routines. The host, Jenna Bush Hager, began the interview by mildly criticizing people who remove their shoes in movie theatres. She then asked whether the NBA legend would engage in such behavior. As a reply, he asked:“Well, what kind of theater are we talking about? We talking about a regular ‘degular’ theater or the plush one?”When the host explained that it would be a “plush” theatre, the athlete immediately responded:“Shoes coming off quick.”The host’s mouth dropped open in exclamation as she asked in disbelief: “You’re taking your shoes off?” He continued:“If you’re going to give me a blanket… First of all, not making it through the movie. So I’m about to get comfortable.”The mother of three then joked, still in disbelief:“You think you know a man! You won’t wear flip flops, but you will take your shoes off in a movie theater.”

The former Miami Heat player then told her that he would keep his socks on because he doesn’t like to reveal “man toes.” He continued: “I definitely take my shoes off right away… I have travel shoes. I don’t travel with sneakers. I travel in a version of a slide, and before I go into the bathroom, I put my shoes back on.”Returning to their conversation about the movie theatre, the host questioned if he would roam around the place barefoot. The NBA player replied: “I’m not going anywhere. I’m going to sleep…. It’s for whoever I’m with to watch this movie. You’re going to give me a blanket, and I get to lay back. The shoes coming off… night night.”Many people were shocked by this because going barefoot in public, especially in places like airplanes or theaters, is not very common. Still, the NBA legend didn’t seem to be embarrassed. In the end, his attitude is clear: comfort comes first. Additionally, while not everyone may follow his example, one thing is certain- Dwyane Wade isn’t afraid to be himself, no matter where he is.Also read: Udonis Haslem reacts to Dwyane Wade’s emotional reunion with mom Jolinda on NBC special
