'Didn’t want to be a doctor’: Maharashtra teen with NEET rank 1475th dies by suicide

NEW DELHI: A 19-year-old youth who had cleared the NEET allegedly ended his life in the district on Tuesday with his suicide note stating that he did not want to study medicine, police said.The deceased has been identified as Anurag Anil Borkar, a resident of Nawargaon in Sindewahi taluka. According to a senior police officer, Borkar had recently cleared the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), securing the 1475th rank in the OBC category, and was preparing to begin his MBBS course in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. However, he was found hanging from the ceiling of his room by his family in the early hours. A suicide note recovered from the scene revealed that Borkar did not wish to pursue a career in medicine and instead wanted to go into business.
