Police find pictures of Bhakra Dam, Chandigarh airstrip with YouTuber Jasbir | Chandigarh News
MOHALI: Punjab Police’s State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) claims to have found photographs of Bhakra Dam, Indian Air Force’s airstrip in Chandigarh, and several other Indian Army defence installations from the possession of arrested YouTuber Jasbir Singh, who is accused of spying for Pakistan.The SSOC also found the mobile number of a dismissed Pakistan High Commission staffer, Danish alias Ehsan-ur-Rehman, along with evidence of phone calls and chats between him and the YouTuber. These findings form part of a 1,700-page chargesheet filed by the SSOC in court on Tuesday.Jasbir, a resident of Mehlan village in Ropar district, was arrested in June on charges of espionage. At the time of his arrest, his legal counsel dismissed the police’s claims, alleging that he was falsely implicated.According to the chargesheet, investigations revealed that Jasbir was in contact with Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra—who was earlier arrested in a similar case—and Danish, a dismissed Pakistani govt official. Police sources said Jasbir came under the scanner after releasing a collaborative video with Malhotra on his YouTube channel.Investigators are now probing the depth of his association with Malhotra and Danish, and whether any sensitive information was shared with foreign handlers.
