Stuart Smith, better known as pro wrestler Syko Stu, is recovering in the hospital after a violent attack by Raja Jackson, the son of UFC star Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. The shocking incident happened on August 23, 2025, at a KnokX Pro Wrestling event in Sun Valley, California. Stu’s wife, Contessa Patterson, has now launched a GoFundMe page, which has already raised more than $50,000 within hours to support his treatment and recovery.

The fundraiser explains, “Hello everyone, I’m reaching out to get support for Syko Stu. On August 23rd, he was involved in an unscripted assault that has left him in the hospital with intense recovery needed to regain good health.”It adds that Skyo Stu, a U.S. Army veteran, turned to wrestling as an outlet to cope with PTSD. The attack has not only left him with serious injuries but will also impact his wrestling career and income. Andrew Smith gives health update on Syko Stu after violent Sun Valley wrestling assault

Skyo Stu’s brother, Andrew Smith, shared a message on Facebook giving fans an update about the wrestler’s condition. “Stuart is resting since he sustained severe injuries to his head. He is currently conscious and able to talk but will have a difficult recovery ahead,” Andrew wrote.He explained how the family has been overwhelmed with calls and messages since the assault video spread across social media, showing Raja Jackson striking Stu with multiple punches to the head. “With all the media and social media attention, it’s been hard to get back to everyone. Stuart Smith appreciates all the love and support. He loves wrestling, his wrestling family, and all his fans and supporters. Wrestling has been a huge part of his life and he lives to put on a performance,” he added.Andrew Smith also reminded people that his brother is more than just a performer inside the ring. “He’s just a regular guy who has a life and family outside the ring,” he said, noting that his wife, Contessa, is leading the fundraiser to help cover costs during this difficult time.A widely shared video from the Sun Valley event shows Raja Jackson attacking Skyo Stu without warning, landing repeated blows to his head before officials rushed to stop the fight. The unscripted assault left the wrestler unconscious on the mat and needing urgent hospital care.
