Eligibility criteria for BSSC Office Assistant

  • Educational Qualification: 10th pass (Matriculation) from a recognised board.
  • Age Limit: 18–37 years as of August 1, 2025, with age relaxations for reserved categories.
  • Reservation: Out of 3,727 vacancies, 1,216 posts are reserved for female candidates, with further distribution based on caste and community as per Bihar government norms.

Exam pattern and selection process

The recruitment will follow a single-stage written examination covering:

  • General Knowledge: 40 questions
  • General Mathematics: 30 questions
  • General Hindi: 30 questions

The exam is of 100 marks, with a 2-hour duration. Negative marking applies, with 1 mark deducted for each wrong answer. Shortlisted candidates will then undergo document verification before final selection.

Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹18,000 to ₹56,900 according to the 7th Pay Commission, with an approximate in-hand salary of ₹23,220.
