NEW DELHI: A Class 10 student at Seventh-Day Adventist School in Ahmedabad, who was stabbed during a fight with a Class 8 student on Tuesday, succumbed to his injuries, sparking massive protests on Wednesday.The victim’s family, along with members of the Sindhi community and other parents, gathered at the school, demanding strict action against the accused. The agitated crowd ransacked parts of the school building, leading to tense scenes on the premises.Joint commissioner of police Jaipal Singh Rathore confirmed that the altercation between the two boys escalated into a stabbing. “Police registered an FIR yesterday itself. The accused was detained. During treatment, the injured child died. Following this, his family, parents of other students and members of the Sindhi community have gathered. Adequate police personnel are deployed and further investigation is under way,” he said.Police have detained the accused student and are verifying the sequence of events leading to the incident.(Inputs with agency)
