NEW DELHI: A sexual assault case has been registered against Kerala rapper Hirandas Murali, popularly known as Vedan, following a complaint by a young doctor, police confirmed on Thrusday. According to the complaint, the victim alleged that Murali engaged in sexual relations with her multiple times between August 2021 and March 2023 under false promise of marriage, as reported by news agency ANI. The case has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) pertaining to sexual assault, said the Police PRO. An investigation is currently underway.(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
